Rounds 15,16,17,18 - Snetterton, 4/5-September-1999

A fairly sparse turn out of TZRs for this weekend, which was a shame given the glorious weather and the equally hot pace of the racing. The usual suspects of Paul, Charlie and Martin were taking the laurels, but all of them needed to get within 1 sec of Pauls lap record in order to do this. Clive Larrett finished his season on a high with some good solid rides, and after some appalling machine problems, Kev Burton finally picked up some points. (Kev's problems even extended to having his bike run over by a myopic driver whilst parked outside his house).

And the winner is...

Paul Hogan, who now cannot be caught by Martin, his nearest challenger. So, along with two lap records, Paul now follows in the footsteps of Mick Doohan, Carl Fogarty, Freddie Spencer, and Giacomo Agostini in lifting the coveted TZR Tour crown. Big congratulations to the man, who has proved that age is no barrier to blistering performance on the race track.

Sorry!

Sorry for missing out on the last TZR Tour newsletter, but I had rather a lot on my plate what with getting married and all.

Unluckiest Man in the World

Is our Charlie Entwhistle. No sooner had he got the bike running somewhere near right when he stacked it at Cadwell. The weekend after he was travelling up to my stag night, and arrived two hours late due to his train being struck by lightning...

Casualty Department

Another remarkably crash free weekend for the TZRs, but what we lacked in quantity we made up for in quality, with your friendly tour organiser paying a visit to the marshals at Riches on the first lap of practise. Yes, that's the first corner, of the first lap of practise. Another dubious honour was that I officially became the first rider to be picked up in bemsees new recovery van. And a lovely van it is too. Cheers Dave. Paul L also paid a visit to the chappies at Riches later in the day.

On a more serious note, it looks like Charlie Entwhistles Cadwell shunt may have been more serious than first thought, to the extent that he's still suffering concussion. Get well soon.
