Here we go again...

Yes, in a veritable cornucopia of predictability we're following hot on the heels of the 1999 TZR Tour with the 2000 TZR Trout. (That started off as a spelling mistake, but I think I may leave it in there at least for a little while).
As with all previous years, the tour will take place at a selection of BMCRC organised races throught the summer, and will give those of us not able to complete the full BMCRC schedule the chance to compete for yet another small cheap plastic trophy. Once again, I've tried to concentrate the rounds on the summer months, 'cos I hate camping in the wet.
If things last year are anything to go by, the 2000 season could see some great things. Martin Ratcliffe will surely be the man to set the pace, but Simon Tomlinson is getting his old form back now, and will push him all the way. Add to that the emergence of several new talents (one of which I'm keeping quiet about but reckon he'll win races) and it looks set to be a cracker of a series. Last year we set two new lap records at Oulton and Snetterton (both courtesy of Paul Hogan). It'd be nice to do it again this year.

Dates for the 2000 season

Unlike last year, we're not having a nominated round in 2000, as only about 3 people bothered to vote. So, seeing as my best results last year came at Snetterton, we'll be doing all the rounds there for this season.
Actually, even I'm not that devious. Here's what we're doing:

Round Date Venue
1&2 6-May-2000 Cadwell
3&4 7-May-2000 Cadwell
5&6 28-May-2000 Brands Hatch (GP)
7&8 29-May-2000 Brands Hatch (GP)
9&10 10-Jun-2000 Oulton
11&12 15-Jul-2000 Lydden
13&14 16-Jul-2000 Lydden
15&16 23-Jul-2000 Mallory
17&18 19-Aug-2000 Snetterton
19&20 2-Sep-2000 Brands Hatch

As with last season, we'll be having a joker round too, where points score double.

So, where do I sign?

If you're looking at this page on the internet, just go along to the online registration form and fill in the details. Once you've done this pop a cheque in the post, or mail me to let me know that you've done so.

For those of us not stricken with the mire of banality and mediocrity that is the internet, just complete the enclosed form and post it back to me with a cheque.

Videos

At the moment, I'm still trying to sort a deal with Bob Keen to produce a 2000 TZR Tour video. I'll keep you informed of what happens. Hopefully we can persuade him that it is a Good Idea, as the quality of his work is excellent, and I, for one, will be disappointed if we can't.

P.S. If you want Bob to make a personal video of your season, give him a call on 01233 626024.

Hic... Burp

As with last year, we'll have an end of season barbie and piss-up somewhere. This has yet to be decided, but if we have any money left over from the subscription fees I'll put it towards beer and dead cow. Unlike last season where it all went on renting out pit lane garages.
